OXFORD AREA SENIOR CENTER

NINTENDO Wii

A local organization, that will be mentioned in next month's newsletter, has graciously donated a
NINTENDO Wii to the Senior Center.
We are currently searching for a "Big Screen TV" to use with it.
If you are aware of an inexpensive one, or have one to donate, please call Jim at the Center.
We hope to have our Wii up and running by mid-May so all of you can enjoy it.

MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW.

IRS IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING STIMULUS PAYMENTS

Individuals who might not otherwise be required to file a 2007 tax return will need to file a return this year to receive the Stimulus Payment. The return must show at least $3,000 in qualifying income.

For low-income workers who had at least $3,000 in earned income in 2007 that normally do not have to file a federal tax return will need to file this year in order to get the Stimulus Package. Likewise, Social Security recipients, veterans and retired railroad workers who might not normally file a tax return must do so also to receive the Stimulus Package.

Recipients who have filed a 2007 return reporting at least $3,000 in qualifying income do not need to do anything else. They will begin receiving Stimulus Payments in early May.

SILVER SNEAKERS EXERCISE CLASSES

The Oxford Area Senior Center has recently contracted with Healthways Health
Support, LLC to be a host site for their Fitness Program.

Healthways SilverSneakers Fitness Program is a comprehensive older-adults physical activities program that addresses the needs of the 65 + year old population. Muscular Strength & Range of Movement is the core class of this Program and the focus of this creative multi-level conditioning exercise class.

The Program is normally offered to seniors who contract with Blue Cross for their health care coverage. However, due to our large membership base and the number of seniors participating at our Center, we are allowed to offer this beneficial program to our members who don't have Blue Cross.

It is similar to our old Body Recall Classes and most recently our SeniorFit exercise classes but more structured and intense.

Please join us on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11AM-11:45AM to experience this new fitness program. Come and see how much better you'll feel after a 45 minute work.

It is instructed by Molli Hoover and Avanell Pyle here at the Oxford Area Senior Center. Wear comfortable clothing. If you have any questions or would like more information about the class, please call the center at (610) 932-5244

Day: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Mornings
Time: 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
Place: Oxford Area Senior Center
Cost: No fee
  Everyone is invited to attend.
